In this workshop you will team up in small pods and implement edge routing and firewalling for cloud workloads. We are offering a virtual lab where you can deploy the edge routing and firewall layer for a mocked cloud. We also provide some BGP transit peerings and you may setup private peerings between the pods.
Please bring a laptop with a working Internet connection and a SSH client with you. A basic understanding of (dynamic) networking routing on Linux is recommended. We will provide some training material and configuration templates. In the workshop we use the Alpine Linux derivative RouterKit OS, IfState for declarative network configuration, nftables for firewalling, and the BIRD routing daemon.
