In this workshop, you will work in small groups to implement edge routing and firewalling for cloud workloads. We are providing a virtual lab where you can deploy the edge routing and firewall layer for a simulated cloud. We also provide some BGP transit peerings, and you may set up private peerings between the groups.
Please bring a laptop with a working internet connection and an SSH client. A basic understanding of (dynamic) network routing on Linux is recommended. We will provide some training materials and configuration templates. In the workshop, we will be using RouterKit OS, a derivative of Alpine Linux, IfState for declarative network configuration, nftables for firewalling, and the BIRD routing daemon.
