The ScaleUp team has developed an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud in Germany, utilising the power of the Open Compute Platform (OCP) and open-source technology. The setup was also designed with sustainability in mind and utilises the Sovereign Cloud Stack (SCS), an open-source project that provides a standardised cloud platform using OpenStack and Kubernetes, ensuring compliance with European data standards and preventing user lock-in.
In our presentation, we will outline the steps we are taking to build and operate multiple regions of this IaaS infrastructure. We will also discuss how this approach can serve as a scalable alternative to hyperscale clouds and how it can be used as a blueprint for private cloud deployments.
