We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Saxon Digital Prize 2024 in the category Open Source for our project Krake.

The Saxon Digital Award is presented by the State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport (SMWA) and recognizes innovative solutions in the field of digitization. This year, the focus was on digital solutions in the area of raw materials and energy. The award has a total prize money of up to 165,000 euros and honors outstanding projects in the categories "Economy", "Society" and "Open Source". The "Open Source" category recognizes outstanding innovations based on open-source technologies.

ALASCA submitted the project Krake , an open-source tool for automatic management of containerized workloads on various cloud platforms. Krake allows cloud users to optimally distribute their virtual workloads while considering energy efficiency criteria.

After being selected by a jury of experts, Krake finally won the public vote, beating two other nominees. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us in the voting and voted for Krake.

"We are delighted to announce that our project Krake has won the Saxon Digital Award 2024 in the Open Source category. This award highlights the importance of collaboration within the community to collectively work towards the development of open-source projects and strengthen digital sovereignty. Additionally, Krake makes a valuable contribution to sustainable digitalization. "  - Dr Marius Feldmann, Chairman of the Board ALASCA e. V.
