Friederike Zelke is a Partner Manager at VanillaCore and a Digital Government Adviser for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). She is also an expert in cloud infrastructure for the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and works with the GovStack Initiative. After several years as editor-in-chief of the magazine “the cloud report”, Friederike joined the SCS team in April 2023 as a Community Manager. Her focus is on free and open-source technology, digital sovereignty, openness, collaboration, security and sustainability. Open-source cloud technology is an essential building block for digital sovereignty, empowering organisations, companies and countries to be self-determined, creative and innovative. However, using open-source technology also requires courage, the development of knowledge and skills, and global networking with communities—and this is precisely where Friederike’s work lies: networking, sharing knowledge and fostering a passion for open source.
