Open letter: Digital sovereignty for Germany and Europe is possible!

Together with 59 other organisations, we have signed an open letter to BSI President Claudia Plattner. This was prompted by her recent statements claiming that digital sovereignty is currently unattainable in Germany.

We clearly disagree: digital sovereignty is possible - if we invest specifically in open software solutions and prioritise their use. Numerous powerful open source solutions that are already in use today show that dependencies on international providers can be reduced.

It is now up to policymakers to seriously support these strategies, thereby strengthening the innovation and independence of business and public administration in Germany and Europe.
