As an association that clearly stands behind genuine collaboration across organisational, national and technical boundaries, we are delighted to be actively involved in shaping the programme. For example, there will be a panel at the SCS Summit in which, among others, our member companies Cloud&Heat Technologies GmbH and UhuruTec AG to the topic Open source standards in practice will discuss. This exciting panel will be moderated by Daniel Gerber in his role as software engineer under the ALASCA FOCIS funding project.

On the surface, the panel explores one of the central questions of cross-organisational collaboration and highlights the advantage that these companies have from conscious cooperation in the SCS forum and the open source ecosystem, despite the fact that they are direct competitors in the same market. This is a topic that also concerns us at ALASCA and our experience clearly shows that actual cooperation, knowledge sharing and networking among each other is worth its weight in gold. Collaboration across different boundaries and breaking down technical silos is therefore one of our top priorities. ALASCA Summit on 03 and 4 November 2026 under the motto: „With C - as in Community. Breaking down technical silos united for a digitally sovereign Europe.“ also take centre stage.

The technical linking of the SCS standards with our open source projects in ALASCA is also a key objective of the project funded by the Free State of Saxony ALASCA FOCIS. In the course of the project to date, the team has been able to demonstrate that our project Yaook can be used for the provision of OpenStack in accordance with the SCS-compatible IaaS requirements. In line with this, we are also looking forward to a Lightning Talk at the SCS Summit by Matthias Büchse (project manager of the ALASCA FOCIS funding project), in which he will give an overview of the current status of the Yaook Operator, which automates the process of ensuring SCS compliance.

A detailed abstract of both the panel and the talk can be found on the programme page of the SCS Summit.

We are very much looking forward to this year's SCS Summit and our active participation in the programme. We would also like to recommend the event to our ALASCA community and extend a warm invitation to Berlin. We look forward to seeing you there again. You can register for the event here make.
